Quality You Can Trust

I care about how my work is made as much as how it looks. That’s why chose a partner whose materials and process are built for consistent, gallery-level results.

Partnering with Gelato’s print-on-demand network doesn’t just support responsible production — it ensures that every artwork that leaves the workshop embodies a high level of craftsmanship and reliability.

Framed Edition

The framed edition arrives fully assembled and ready to hang. The frame is crafted from durable pine wood, measuring 20–25 mm in thickness and 10–14 mm in width — substantial enough to feel stable, yet refined enough to remain visually balanced.

The print itself is produced on heavyweight white matte paper at 200 gsm (80 lb), with a thickness of 0.22 mm (8.7 mils). The surface is smooth, matte, and non-reflective, allowing the artwork to be viewed without glare or distraction.

Each piece is protected by shatterproof plexiglass, providing durability during handling and transit while maintaining clarity. A hanging kit is included, so the artwork can be placed directly on the wall without additional preparation.

The paper used is FSC-certified (or equivalent), ensuring that the wood fibers originate from responsibly managed sources.

Unframed Edition

The unframed edition is printed on Master’s Edition archival paper for those who prefer the artwork in its purest form.

This is a 250 gsm (110 lb) museum-grade paper with a thickness of 0.29 mm (11.4 mils). It is matte, uncoated, and natural white (off-white), giving the surface a subtle depth and softness.

The paper is acid-free (pH above 7), which prevents yellowing over time and preserves tonal stability. It is also FSC-certified, supporting sustainable forest management.

The result is a print designed for long-term preservation and professional framing.

Precision at Every Stage

Gelato’s approach to quality goes far beyond simply printing images on paper or canvas. They combine advanced technology, rigorous checks, and human oversight to deliver prints that are vivid, accurate, and enduring:

  • Material integrity:
Only high-grade substrates and trusted suppliers are used so that prints remain durable and colours stay true over time.
  • Automated and manual review: Before anything goes into production, Gelato’s systems automatically evaluate artwork files for optimal reproduction — and trained professionals visually inspect products to catch issues machines might miss.
  • State-of-the-art equipment:

Their network partners use modern printing technology to uphold consistency and performance across every order.

From Print to Packaging

Quality isn’t only about how a piece looks — it’s about how it arrives in your hands (or your customer’s):

  • Protective packaging:
Products are packed according to tested standards that reduce the risk of damage during transit.
  • Reliable delivery systems: Intelligent routing pairs orders with efficient carriers, balancing speed and care in delivery.

Ecological Commitment

Why Print-on-Demand Matters

I work with print-on-demand (POD) because it fundamentally reduces waste. Unlike traditional stock-based production, nothing is printed unless it is ordered. This avoids overproduction, excess inventory, and unnecessary disposal, making POD a more responsible way to bring artworks into the world.

Why I Chose Gelato

Gelato’s production model is built around local printing. By producing artworks as close as possible to the customer, shipping distances are significantly reduced, which lowers transport-related emissions and supports local print partners and communities.

As an artist, I care not only about how my work looks, but also about how it is made. Gelato’s environmental standards align with my values—especially when it comes to materials. Their paper products and wood frames are sourced from responsibly managed forests, primarily using FSC-certified paper and wood where available. This ensures that natural resources are treated with care and accountability.

A Sustainable Value Chain

By printing locally with Gelato, I actively support a more sustainable value chain. Gelato continuously works to strengthen this chain by setting high standards, monitoring compliance, and developing long-term relationships with their suppliers.

Their commitments include:

  • High sustainability requirements for all suppliers
  • Mandatory signing of Gelato’s Supplier Code of Conduct by all print partners
  • A structured and efficient compliance process to minimize supply-chain risks
  • On-location inspections of suppliers when required

Gelato is also a participant of the United Nations Global Compact, demonstrating alignment with internationally recognized principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

For full transparency, Gelato publishes a detailed Sustainability Report (2024) outlining their environmental impact, goals, and ongoing improvements.

Choosing Gelato allows me to offer my work in a way that reflects both artistic integrity and environmental responsibility—so every print is created with intention, care, and respect for the resources behind it.
